90's throwback

Happy Hump Day,

I can not believe that the 90's are recycling already! I am a 90's baby (grew up in the 90's) so of course, this totally excites me! Clothes dyeing/tie dye (back!), pointed toe shoes (back)! and drum roll please..... overalls or jumpers are totally back, back, back!!! Being that I am a total dork for overalls, I have been searching for the perfect pair for months now! Oh Zara, I love you. You make my life so easy. Yup, I picked a pair of these denim overall at Zara and paired it with ankle strap heels to take the boyish factor out. And to give it more of a fashion statement, I added a vest (and yes, you probably already notice they are back to).

P.S. In the 90's I own overalls in a array of styles, from denim, corduroy, velvet, shorts and the list keeps going!  I'm pulling out a pair of white linen overalls from my teenage years and dyeing it! Stamp Dork on my forehead because I fully admit my addiction to this comfy throwback! weeee!

enk.circuit.intermezzo

Happy Monday,

Last week was exhausting. Exhausting in the best kind of way though. I styled a photo shoot on Monday, it was an amazing time. I'll be sharing some behind the scene photos with you soon! On Tuesday,  the buying team of Kembrel and myself traveled to NYC for the  ENK Circuit Intermezzo Trade Show. The show included hundreds of designer names, including Cynthia Vincent, Clover Canyon and Alice and Olivia to name a few.

We were hard at work so only got a few pictures in.

As a buyer you get to sit (above pictures) and the sales team from each designer can present the line to you. Or if you like, you can sort through the line yourself! Yes, it is as fun as it looks!

I've been living in these boyfriend jeans! Madly in love with them whether I'm in flats, heels or my "clown" shoes, I can't have enough of them. !

Special thanks to Erin and Marquis for teaching me so much.

high-waisted happiness

Hey Everyone,

Life has been great lately and nothing but happiness. Going part time as a nurse has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! It has opened up so many opportunities to pursue a fashion career. I am currently interning as a fashion buyer! woo woo! It has been so much fun thus far, my coworkers are great. Last week we even had, make your own quesadilla and margarits in the office. I am learning a ton, excel spreadsheets aren’t half as bad as people make them out to be.  I actually really enjoy the organization, something I would have not appreciated in my younger years. The most exciting part of the internship is assisting in buying of course! Buying clothing on someone else’s money is pretty damn fun!

Of course, this part time nurse also has more time for school and blogging now! I’m waiting for my tripod to arrive and hope shooting solo will work out. In the meantime, my good friend helped me shoot this fun vintage high-waisted short. A steal at $10! what!? I love these shorts so much I may have to remake the pattern myself. If anyone is interested in the pattern let me know, after-all this little lady is almost a technical designer! Would anyone be interested in patterns and sewing DIY tips on the blog?
